This decade was a time for mergers and takeovers, credit cards and binge buying, drugs and AIDS, President Reagan and the fall of the Berlin Wall. It was a big decade for Duininck as well. The company became partners in Heli-Jet and Heli-Trade a helicopter operation in Oregon. George Rakes an oil field pipeline company was purchased in Montana. Minnkota Building Systems was building housing projects for the governments of Trindad and the Bahamas. The Texas division of road construction began in 1983. Hart Ranch, Indian Harvest and Duininck Bros Golf also began in the mid-1980s. The 1980s for the company were a decade for diversity.
