Highway Construction The Highway Construction Division is involved in bituminous surfacing of federal, state, county highways, city streets and roads. We also do a large amount of work for the private sector - industry, businesses, schools and residences.
A hard surface such as bituminous is only as good as the base on which it is built. The preparation crews play a very important role in the process of building a hard surface. Having the right equipment for the job and the experienced operators, laborers and supervisors are key factors for this division that insures a quality base on which to build.
This division operates four portable "hot mix" plants plus all the lay down equipment required to create a serviceable bituminous surface. Producing a high quality hot mix surface is a combination of creating the correct raw materials for the job, producing a quality bituminous product and then having experienced employees that can lay a high quality bituminous mat. It is a combination of technical knowledge and art. This is where the experience is so important. This division has a cadre of experienced employees with decades of experience to insure that you will receive a top quality surface.
The bituminous production facilities serve mainly Minnesota, Iowa and the Dakotas. We keep a bituminous production plant in the Willmar area and another in the Litchfield / Hutchinson area almost all the time to serve the needs of the these areas, while the remaining two plants give flexibility to service a broad market area.
